Deliverance is Good... But I need HEALING!

Updated: Aug 4, 2021

Have you ever prayed relentlessly, danced, fasted, pleaded, and begged for God to deliver you from the mental anguish that plagued your mind? Have you ever believed that you were healed from your state of depression, anxiety, or another emotional stability, only for a few days to pass and you were right back in the same place? Has this cycle left you feeling forgotten, lost, and frustrated wondering why God hadn’t delivered you yet, or is there a part that is missing?

If the answer is yes, then you need HEALING. Yes, you read that correctly, and to explain a little further, let me first begin by saying....Healing is a journey. God is not trying to keep you from walking in full deliverance. You received deliverance, but now you must continue your journey of healing.

What is the difference between deliverance and healing? Deliverance is to be taken from or removed from one location or area to another. For example, When God delved the children of Israel from Egypt, He took them from one place to another. Or when a mother has a newborn baby, that child is birthed from her womb into the world. However, healing is enduring a process that alters your mindset to prevent you from returning to the place of your deliverance. Healing removes all the negative perceptions, misbeliefs, behaviors; and replaces them with truth, and mechanisms to establish wholeness. For he tells us in Romans 12:2 to be transformed by the renewing of your mind”, and to renew your mind you must remove the negative what was once there.

So, by now you are probably asking,” Okay Krystal, where do I begin?”. Well let me first let you in on a secret! This is not a sprint and won’t happen overnight. It is a marathon, a journey that will have some high moments and low or painful moments. I also want you to understand that the amount of effort that you put into this will match your level of success. In other words, a little bit of effort equals a little bit of change; however, a lot of effort equals a lot of change. Next, please understand that you cannot do this alone. Please say it with me I cannot do this ALONE”.

You need to obtain a therapist that shares your beliefs. This person cannot be a friend, but someone who has been trained in assisting others through their journey! It may take a couple of chances to find the right person, but please do not give up in finding a therapist. Next, take the time and do the work! Educate yourself on the root of your symptoms. Education is key! Not to enable or give you an excuse to continue in the negative behaviors, but to learn where the root lies so that it can be removed, and a new truth is planted. Lastly, but not least, Pray through your process. God is the only one that will be able to sustain you through your process, he has not forgotten about you so please do not forget about him. There are going to be moments where you are going to quit, you are going to find out some hard truths and the only person you can run to is God. So, it is vital that you pray through your process. Just remember that it is going to be worth it!
